Trying the ROM machine prior to buying it or renting it for 30 days.

A small percentage of prospective future ROM customers insists that they would want to see and try the ROM at least once before taking a leap of faith to purchase it or to rent it for 30 days (rental applies to purchase and 97% of 30 day rentals result in purchases of ROM machines).

There are a variety of similar questions that people ask, such as: Do you have someone nearby where I live that owns a ROM that I can see? Can you give me some phone numbers of ROM owners that I can talk to? Are there any Gyms in my area where I can go to check out your ROM? Etc. Etc.

The answer is "not a good idea" and "no".

IT USED TO BE "YES" BEFORE 1993, BUT WE STOPPED IT FOR GOOD REASONS. IF YOU WANT TO LEARN THOSE REASONS YOU HAVE TO READ THE FOLLOWING:

Before 1993 we used to mail out VHS tapes instead of the current DVDs because there were no DVDs yet at that time. Every 52 VHS tapes mailed out resulted in one ROM machine sale.

Then we thought that if we could give all the people that received our VHS tape the opportunity to see and try the ROM that this might result in more than one out of 52 to buy a ROM, so that maybe one out of 25 VHS mailouts would result in a ROM sale. So we made a list of the commercial places that had our ROM machines (10% of ROM sales go to commercial uses and 90% go to private homes) and we even asked a number of ROM machine owners whether they would be so kind to share their experience with the ROM with prospective ROM customers.

After connecting the people to either public places or private ROM owners, we expected that maybe ROM sales would increase from one sale for 52 VHS mailouts to maybe one sale for every 25 VHS mailouts. The surprising result was that the sales went DOWN to one sale out of 85 VHS mailouts. We could not understand why until we called some of these potential ROM customers back to hear what happened.

Most of these people did not want to be bothered by us because they thought the calling back was just an attempt on our part to give them a sales call. It was not. Many others explained that they had tried the ROM and were not very impressed. WHAT??? not impressed, how is that possible? We realized then that only a few of them got an excellent first 4 minute ROM experience and most did not. I turned out that most people in public ROM facilities or people that own a ROM , know perfectly well how to use it correctly, but most of those people are not qualified to make certain that a prospective ROM customer gets an absolutely excellent first 4 minute ROM experience. And if that excellent experience does not happen the people lose interest immediately. Also many of the people were not equipped to answer customer’s questions.

So, in the interest of both the prospective ROM customers and also ourselves, as manufacturers, we stopped referring prospective customers to places where they could see and try the ROM before taking a leap of faith to buy the ROM. This of course ticks off a number of prospective ROM customers who just want what they want and cannot see the wisdom in our decision not to cooperate with their wishes. We cannot help that and we willingly accept the fact that some of them are sufficiently ticked off that they do not get their way so that we could lose them as prospective ROM customers.

In 1993 we stopped accommodating prospective customers that wanted to see and try the ROM before buying it. Instead we started offering ROM customers our very successful 30 day trial rental. That has worked really to everyone's advantage because right now we sell one ROM for every 35 DVDs we mail out. The rental in the continental lower 48 States of the United States requires a $2500 rental deposit (Hawaii, Alaska, Canada and some Western European Countries require a $3500 rental deposit).

The 30 day rental is a far superior way to try the ROM. Trying the ROM only one time for 4 minutes still does not tell you anything about the results that you get over a few weeks. The only thing that becomes clear in using the ROM only one time for 4 minutes is that the ROM indeed gives people a very substantial workout in only 4 minutes but it still leaves a lot of questions open such as all the following questions that definitely are answered during a 30 day rental:

1. What does it do for bloodsugar balance?
2. What does it do for normalizing cholesterol levels?
3. What does it do for normalizing blood pressure?
4. What does it do for improving "bad shoulders"?
5. What does it do for improving a "bad back"?
6. What does it do for improving flexibility?
7. What does it do for strength?
8. What does it do for endurance/stamina?
9. What does it do for normalizing fatty acid levels in the blood?
10. How do I feel after a few weeks of use?

All or most of these questions are answered during a 30 day trial. So please accept the fact that we are not going to revert to the failed policy of accomodating people with their "trying it once" request. The only exception is if people want to come to our factory showroom. Later within the next few years we may make an effort to certify a number of people in commercial ROM facilities around the country to give an EXCELLENT first ever 4 minute experience to prospective ROM customers.

FOLLOWING IS A LIST OF OTHER QUESTIONS THAT PEOPLE CAN CLEAR UP WITH A 30 ROM RENTAL AND SOME OBJECTIVE THINKING:

1. How can these ROM people still be in business since 1990 if the ROM did not work exactly as advertised? (Your skeptical answer could be that we keep finding ever more gullible people who just take our word for it. Sorry, no such thing, we would have been buried in lawsuits by now. (Many lawyers own our ROM).

2. Next question: If this ROM would be really as good as is claimed by us, why then is it not in all the health clubs on Earth by now? TWO ANSWERS: We ave absolutely done no effort to promote the sale of our ROM machine to health clubs because in a health club the unique advantage of time savings with the exactly 4 minute ROM exercise disappears. The ROM belongs in the home or the place of employment for employees to use because in both places the 4 minute exercise takes exactly 4 minutes. In a health club the 4 minute exercise takes at least 34 minutes (average 15 minute commute in both directions) and added to that waiting in line and changing clothes. We have never done an effort to get the ROMs into health clubs (we might still do that in the future against better wisdom). Despite our reluctance to promote the ROM to health clubs, several gyms have bought our ROM and some have been in commercial use since 1991 and some have endured over 200,000 uses without the need of repair or rebuilding (200.000 uses means LESS THAN 8 CENTS PER USE. It also means that in private use the ROM will last at least 4 generations and will become an heirloom.

3. Next question: If it has been on the market since 1990 why is it that I just became aware of the ROM very recently? ANSWER: Because we are a family owned company that started promotion only locally in the Los Angeles area and then slowly expanded advertising into recently national publications. The ridicule by experts slows progress as well. Today over half of sales are referral sales.

Next question: Why are there not more University Studies? ANSWER: Because these places have their hand out and they will make findings according to what you pay for. USC gave us a glowing research report (included in the literature) but we were solicited to pay the researcher and the institution. How good is that? This was the same USC that did research on cigarette smoking decades ago and found nothing wrong with it (research funded by the tobacco industry). The people who now own ROM machines did the most convincing research, they rented the ROM for 30 days and based upon their results during those 30 days they bought a $14,615 exercise machine. They did not get paid for doing research, they paid for it themselves by first renting the ROM and then buying it.

The first thing that potential ROM customers need to do is read ALL the literature available on the ROM and read it thoroughly , not just skimming it over. The best place to start is "Q&A" on our website. Most of their questions will have been answered after reading "Q&A" (questions and answers). The few that are left include the ones at the top of this page and www.WhyIsItSoExpensive.com

The second thing that needs to be done is watching the free video (not a slick Hollywood production). It is cobbled together video footage that we have collected over the years (hokey and down to Earth).

We wish you luck with your personal ROM research and if you have questions that you feel were not answered by our website and literature, please feel free to email us with those questions at sales@QuickGym.com .
